①Drive to Madarao

If you are driving, winter tires are required, and 4WD is highly recommended.
You can also rent a car at Nagano Station — all rental cars come with winter tires.

②Direct Bus from Airport to Madarao

There is a direct winter-season bus from Haneda Airport and Narita Airport to Madarao Kogen Hotel.
If you arrive there, we can pick you up — please let us know in advance.

③Shinkansen + Bus/Taxi to Madarao

Closest station: Iiyama Station (Hokuriku Shinkansen: Tokyo ⇄ Kanazawa)

From Iiyama Station:

• A shuttle bus to Yamanoie-mae (our closest bus stop) departs from Bus Stop 1, Chikumaguchi Exit.
  We can pick you up at Yamanoie-mae — please inform us beforehand. 

• Check the bus schedule here. (no reservation needed)

• Taxi is also available from the Chikumaguchi Exit.

How to Get to Iiyama Station

From Tokyo:
Hokuriku Shinkansen → Approx. 1 hr 50 min

From Osaka / Kyoto:
Limited Express Thunderbird to Kanazawa → Transfer to Hokuriku Shinkansen → About 1 hr to Iiyama

From Nagoya:
Limited Express Shinano to Nagano → Shinkansen → 10 min to Iiyama
