Nice to meet you. My name is Takashi Yao, the owner of 'Echoland Madarao,' located on the border of Iiyama City in Nagano Prefecture and Myoko City in Niigata Prefecture.

STORY
I was born in China and spent my early childhood there. Later, as a high school student, I began living in Japan. I graduated from a prestigious university and was able to secure a job at a famous company. However, I never found true "satisfaction." The sense of fulfillment and happiness I had were all temporary.
During those days, I became passionate about snowboarding. Snowboarding, which I could still do during the pandemic, became my weekend joy. It provided me with a sustained sense of achievement and happiness that I couldn't find in my job. Through snowboarding, I discovered true "satisfaction."
In April 2023, I quit my job and embarked on a round-the-world trip in search of snow-covered mountains.
NZ, the US, Canada, France, Switzerland, Austria, Italy… Each experience in these snow mountains was wonderful. However, the pleasure of soaking in an onsen after snowboarding, the cost-effective and delicious food, and other aspects made me appreciate the greatness of Japan once again.
Upon returning from my round-the-world trip, I strongly felt the desire to share the wonderful aspects of Japan with people all over the world. This led me to purchase a lodge in the Madarao Highlands.
